Through my Graduate Assistant position in the Department of Family Studies and Community Development, I had the opportunity to help plan, execute, co-host, and facilitate small group discussion in a workshop targeted to 350 undergraduate students. The goals of the workshop were to raise student awareness and understanding of individuals with disabilities and to eliminate negative stigmas and stereotypes associated with disabilities. Through my involvement with the workshop, I developed my coordinating, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Dan Jones
Writing
Prize
I took a course in Faith Perspectives in Medical Ethics in my undergraduate career and had my term paper titled Religious Influence in National Structures: An Islamic, Jewish and Buddhist Perspective recognized for excellence. My professor nominated my work for the Dan Jones Writing Prize, which awards $1000 to a single winner. Though I did not win the award, I am still proud of and humbled by the nomination.
