Sibshop is a program designed to meet the psychosocial needs of 6-13 year old siblings of children with disabilities. We collaboarte with The Arc of Frederick County to provide them with developmentally appropriate opportunities for emotional expression, leadership, and peer support through structured play and guided discussion.
Sibshop Facilitator
I was trained by a CCLS to:
Engage parents with meaningful feedback regarding their child's participation in the workshop
Effectively transition children between activities
Foster opportunities for children to exercise choice and leadership
Establish a rapport with children that bolsters reflective discussion
Mediate oppositional behavior
Track participant applications, consent forms, dues, etc.
